Identity and Reclaiming Our Slavic Roots

Introducing Dionne Jennings

The first episode of the Under the Linden Tree podcast is here! I’m chatting with Dionne Jennings, a community herbalist and member of the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada. I’m so excited that she also agreed to be a regular guest after we recorded this interview.

In this episode, we get to know Dionne; her background, philosophy and inspiration behind preserving our Slavic lineages. We chat about her favorite ancestral plants, other folk healing methods such as wax pouring, and how it is we’ve gotten to this point of such disconnection from our ancestors.

I do apologize, my mic cut out about half way through the episode so its not the best quality on my end! I so appreciate your patience as I figure out how to implement this new format of discussion and learning. Both Dionne and I have so much to share beyond this chat, so I hope you’ll stick around!

If you have any questions or thoughts after listening to the episode, please let me know in the comments. Since Dionne is a regular, we’ll be able to address any further inquiries in future episodes. While this episode is pretty general, the episodes to come will be deep dives into very specific subjects.
